最後幾章我真是看得死去活來。當Gore Vidal不嘗試用他的辛辣刻薄來掩蓋傷痛的時候，文章就極為感人。對幾次離彆的描寫非常動人：和親哥的，和堂哥的，和Helena的，和阿波羅神廟的，還有那種對宮廷場景墓穴一般的刻畫。尤利安到底還是四世紀的孩子，這一點從始至終都讓我心碎。（PS. 我有點懷疑開頭對那種緊張的告密氣氛的描寫是在映射麥卡锡……but who knows.
評分很動人，的確寫齣瞭pathos這樣的特質，打算送給想看的人，順豐到付，請豆油。
