近日读了两本书《蒙元入侵前夜的中国日常生活》和《品味奢华——晚明的消费社会与士大夫》，都不是传统意义上的历史著作。说是不传统，其主要指作者的立点不再集中于历史事件与历史人物，不是描摹历史中“惊心动魄”的“大”，而是着力历史中“家长里短”的“小”。读之，...  

法国社会历史的研究可贵之处在于从日常生活中见出真切，而不是通过恢宏的叙述给出似是而非的分析。本书也是这个优良传统的例证。最可观的在于其论述专制政权对经济市场的制约本性，在其维护自生生存的本性本能反应，为入骨之见。 虽为论古，今读来，寒气倒吸，尤为惊心。
