This volume contains three of Mill's most important works. Considered both a guide to efficient, egalitarian state planning and a heartless social policy, "Utilitarianism" (1863) inspired English political philosophy throughout the latter half of the industrial revolution. Also included are some extracts from his "Auguste Comte and Positivism" (1865).
