"Criticism" collects 18 essays, 11 of which are new to this edition, including those by: Fanny Fern, Henry David Thoreau, Anne Gilchrist, Oscar Wilde, Henry James, David S. Reynolds, Karen Sanchez-Eppler, Michael Moon, John Irwin, Allen Grossman and Betsy Erikkila. A chronology and selected bibliography and an index of titles are included.
