《政治学视域：方法篇》乃选辑斯大师有关思想史研究的精华之作，剑桥学派思想的能从几篇典型的论文中找到原型，如《思想史研究的意蕴与理解》、《动机、意图、及阐释》等，文章结构清晰易懂，所要表达的内容也能从作者所举的现实例子中得到理解；其次，大师成文方法也很值得后辈学习，即文章通过与之思想相异者进行再辩论而成，从对方的观点入手，提出异议，进而提出自己的观点再加以论证最后总结厚实观点；有些文章读之，还有些无厘头之感，但为了表达他的意图与动机，搬出马基雅维利或霍布斯作为挡箭也为尝不可，这也算是一种成文的方法。本书对思想史晚辈的写作、思考、逻辑性的培养具有很好的指导及方向性意义；文字朴素，表达灵活，观点鲜明乃本书一大特色，不愧是大师之作。
