陋见：道德味道比较浓，貌似善恶必有报，对穷苦大众的描述比较理想化，但道德与宗教可以分离。对宗教的审视不如哈代严苛。引一句：there is no just. God that governs the earth righteously, but a God of lies, that bears witness against the innocent.

一切都太顺理成章了，像是合家欢的贺岁片。尽管情节安排很精妙，但也不乏loose ends。整本小说显得平淡无奇，反倒是Priscilla登场的几句台词比较值得注意。

经典之作怎么能轮到我来打分。其实这个时代（和我这个年龄）重看还是稍显情节简单，人物形象单薄了些。但是虽然是现实主义作品，但是在一些部分还是采用了浪漫主义和童话的风格，比如朗普斯金的纺车，送到门口的孩子，从此幸福生活下去的结局等等。自然主义的象征手法，社会达尔文主义
