英國契約法標準教科書, 但是並非入門教科書。對沒有英美法基礎的你國法學習者來說，一定要注意英美法和大陸法抽象程度的區彆。例如第溯及效問題，本書第859頁有這樣的描述：For example, a buyer who justifiably rejects goods for breach of condition is normally entitled to the return of the price. To this extent, termination has a retrospective effect.，這裏的溯及效(retrospective effect)，是針對非常具體的代金而言的，而德國法為代錶的溯及效，是針對債務關係本身。
