不仅仅介绍藏传佛教的器物的象征涵义，同时追根朔源介绍影响藏传佛教的印度教，吠陀教器物的象征，以及这些多解的涵义如何演变到藏传佛教中。 本书也或多或少的夹杂着作者的一些对于象征涵义的解读，毕竟偏重于文化读本，多义是可以理解的
评分这本非常不错，主要是对插图绘制的漂亮，老外干活细致。 对法器的描述分类都很好，可以当工具书用了。 出书比较认真。中间有一些故事，觉得很好。 作为研究学习藏传知识的朋友，很有帮助，现在买本好书不容易，系统的更不容易，价格虚高，滥竽充数的有很多。
评分书里介绍了很多器物的佛教来源。但从目录开始就有纰漏，可见书的校对工作不咋地。。。 不过内容还是很值得看得，不懂佛教的（例如偶= =）看看，也觉得很有趣味，后面还附有佛教的名词解释。
