也許是因為開始讀這本書的時候我需要ease in並且適應各種宗教相關的詞匯和描寫，覺得整個書的前半部分沒有什麼故事情節，plots, turns, events基本都被擠進瞭後半本，並且覺得結尾非常的倉促，趕緊交代完事兒我趕緊下班兒的感覺。讀的時候很慶幸自己沒有在青春期經曆對sexuality的思考，躲開瞭frustration，並且之後想通得挺順利的，然後在適婚適育年齡進入瞭完全不覺得婚姻戀愛是人生大事的階段。喜歡Michael形容自己對Nick的感情的時候說的I'm not afraid of suffering too much, I'm afraid of suffering too little, or not in the right way。是啊，希望和你的苦難在一起。

換彆的作傢可以給三星，但和the sea, the sea或者under the net對比，這本真是無比得冗長枯燥缺乏纔情。看來她還是寫第一人稱得心應手。

心理描寫非常細膩，語言精緻，情節狗血。喜歡Michael和Nick、Toby之間的故事，有些橋段太唯美瞭。
