其中有幾章我仿佛在讀一韆零一夜。筆觸還是很細膩的。其中關於女權，政治，烏托邦還是有思考的，放在特定曆史背景裏去讀的一本書。

相比blithedale這個烏托邦農莊，霍桑更多是在講一段四角戀的romance。感覺之所以Coverdale從福榖脫離是因為他自己詩人的秉性和不幸的迴憶，而不是烏托邦構想的失敗。好奇霍桑年輕的時候在Brook Farm有沒有遇到他的Priscilla????
