看过了，还是一知半解。

去年在Vidler提醒留意那篇《手法主义与现代建筑》的情况下找出书重读，才读出未尽之言：来自维特科尔的古典熏陶、前现代主义的概念辨析及与现代主义的关系（类似柯洪）、乌托邦与政治哲学。罗的历史评述是洄游式的，经常来回往复，不置必然对错；言辞经常从不苟言笑瞬间跳到插科打诨。乌托邦、新古典、个性与构图这三篇里潜藏了《拼贴城市》的写作素材，即罗翻出他写过的史料重新组合进新书。罗有浓重英国经验主义色彩，这一点与德法史论截然有别；这书几篇文章对现代主义尚抱有褒扬。透明性演化为他康奈尔时期的城市策略即图底关系法，但自身却戛然而止。罗的形式分析亦类似。罗的意识形态批判在拒斥激进美学与宏大构想的同时，明显在转化着波普尔；然而他自身的古典青睐又调入了一堆修辞行头。我相信罗是拉斯金的真心粉；越真心，越不挂在嘴上。

此书与Wittkower的《原则》、Eisenman的《特拉尼》放到一起去读，方显“祖孙三代”的学术血脉——而骨子里，又可以上溯到阿尔伯蒂的线构之说。
