This introductory text has been revised and updated to include a number of features that strengthen its emphasis on visualization, problem-solving and applications. The Student CD-ROM, developed with Sumanas, and CADRE (Roy Tasker, University of Sydney Nepean) is packaged with each copy of the text. It contains a number of features, including updated and expanded animations and simulations: Atomic Orbitals and Equilibrium, Stoichiometry, Ions in Solutions and Gas Law. Other electronic features include: nomenclature exercises; textbook animations; Q&A chapter self-quizzes; videos; a molecule database using Molecular Simulations Inc. (MSI) WebLab Viewer TM; Periodic Table visual database; curve fitter; plotter; and six calculators. There is also an on-line companion which, for students serves as as an electronic chapter-by-chapter study guide, with: chapter objectives; flash card exercises; interactive exercises and chapter self-quizzes; and four intensive practice tests.
