Although China and Africa are for away from each other,their friendly association dates back long in history.In the mid 20th century,with the birth of the People's Republic of China and at a time when the majority of African countries were gaining independence,the friendship between China and Africa entered a new age For the last fifty years,whether in the struggle for independence and emancipation,or in economic development and national construction,China and Africa have maintained a sincere and equal friendship.Their fruitful cooperation has contributed much to the common progress of mankind and achieved remarkable advances on either side.The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation,jointly initiated by China and African countries in 2000,further broadened operations in various fields,actively increased non-governmental exchanges,and ushered the China-Africa relationship into a new era.
