吴敬琏，首届中国经济学杰出贡献奖得主。1954年毕业于复旦大学经济系。现任国务院发展研究中心研究员，中国社会科学院研究生院教授，北京大学经济学院博士生导师，中欧国际工商学院宝钢经济学教席教授，国际经济学会（IEA）执行委员会顾问，国际管理学会（IAM）会员。
他在中国最早提出并倡导市场化改革，是“市场取向改革论”的主要代表人物。他也是经济体制比较研究学科的开创者之一，引介传播了众多对中国经济理论和改革实践有益的现代经济理论和国际经验。他在不同时期的理论主张和政策建议（如建设法治的市场经济、建立现代公司制度、国有经济的战略性改组、大力发展中小企业、反对权贵资本主义、推动增长模式转型等），推动了中国改革事业的前进。
主要研究领域为理论经济学、比较制度分析、中国社会转型的理论和政策。

评分04年的版本 认真的读了 非常难得的视角 吴先生是从历史和学术思想发源的角度切入 这一点让人赞叹和欣赏 确实很少能看到这样的作品 也是 对作者阅历和思考的巨大挑战 只是不知道新修订的版本和老版本有哪些出入呢？
