比the mortgaged heart多出很多内容，不过没有评注，缺乏周边（反正也不需要）。本书大部分短篇篇目都值得推荐：后期小说比前期小说更显绝望，每一篇都有绝佳的细腻度。除去本书中已经成经典的《婚礼的成员》及《伤心咖啡馆之歌》以外，比较喜欢Court in the West Eighties里面关于对陌生人的依赖并且会觉得Like that的音乐部分也与其有关（同住一处的人）。Aliens一篇和Untitled Piece在路上的感觉有近似.Wunderkind中的感情和最后的Who has seen the Wind又是不同，尤其推荐这最后一篇，是所有悲伤感情的集大成者，同时又是一部作家小说——悲伤稍微接近的则是Haunted Boy，而后期的另外两篇却是诙谐风无感总之请期待译本
