Al Simmons, formerly one of the government`s greatest soldiers, was resurrected from the ashes of his grave. Reborn as a creature from the depths of Hell, disfigured, homeless, and alone, this new warrior known as Spawn now wanders the shadowy alleys of New York City in search of his past life.When Spawn is weakened by a religious zealot`s attempt to dismember him, he retreats to an isolated area where nature slowly restores his battered body. But before Spawn is fully recovered, an angel with her own agenda of achieving heavenly fame attacks him. Spawn returns to the alleys bewildered about his life and purpose. While he questions his existence, a mutated man who defected from the mob approaches Spawn and asks for help recovering his brother from the Mafia. Spawn continues to search for someone he can trust with answers to his confusing existence. But in this twisted world of shadow players, nothing is as it appears.
