本書是熱力學經典教材，尤其在物理學界享有盛譽。這本書的體例跟絕大多數熱力學教材完全不同，並不強調計算，而是從幾個基本的假設齣發，依靠數學工具和物理模型構建齣整個熱力學體係。所以本書並不適閤初學者，如果有比較紮實的基礎再讀會加深對熱力學的認識。順便說一句，這本書的統計熱力學部分其實並不齣色，還是推薦閱讀相關專著為好。
