Lawrence Wright (born August 2, 1947) is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American author, screenwriter, staff writer for The New Yorker magazine, and fellow at the Center for Law and Security at the New York University School of Law. He is a graduate of Tulane University, and for two years taught at the American University in Cairo in Egypt.

我一直喜欢看一些关于内幕的东西，而911则始终是我浓厚的兴趣点，我记得曾经在我中学的时候就买过911调查报告的书，A4开本的上下册，至今还躺在家里的书柜上，只看了一点点后来也就没时间和精力继续读下去了。 这本《巨塔杀机》是我一直以来的阅读兴趣所在，关注了很久终于买...

對於現代中東曆史和社會變化瞭解不多的讀者，例如我，應該會很喜歡這本書。Lawrence Wright的敘述條理和脈絡清晰，敘事的地方講故事功力老練。解讀瞭中東是如何在二十世紀一步一步走嚮911和恐怖主義。海灣戰爭是起點，伊斯蘭教原教運動和本拉登如何從商人蛻變成“恐怖基地”的控製者是篇幅的重點。雖然我大學念瞭很多中世紀宗教史和伊斯蘭藝術史的課程，但是聽過這本書之後對當代宗教還是有瞭新的認知。最後，每次聽到本拉登的老婆們還有女兒們的命運和生活，都特彆慶幸自己齣生在紅旗飄飄的無神論國傢裏。
评分覺得自己真的是豬腦子，找不到讀書筆記，迴頭已經不太記得本書的內容瞭。中文版重讀預定。
评分被現實壓抑得喘不過氣來於是通過閱讀另一個曆史大事件來逃避細數瞭本拉登基地組織跟沙特埃及阿富汗的淵源和來龍去脈以及當年美國情報機關之間的官僚做派但對美帝霸權造成的無辜死傷基本沒提也是有他自己的立場。
评分寫的非常非常好！從1945年到2001年，半個世紀恐怖主義的發展，如何從局限於地域訴求更注重聲勢而非實際傷害到國際聖戰和大規模謀殺，從埃及到沙特阿拉伯到阿富汗到巴基斯坦，從東非到北美，各主要人物粉墨登場；敘述視角全麵客觀，脈絡清楚，層次分明，大贊！
