讀到淚流滿麵時而又破涕為笑，洗腦教育和監察製度的描寫細緻入微。以作者剛正不阿的性格和毫不退卻的勇氣即使不做插畫傢也可以成為瞭不起的人。外公是波斯王子，外婆是有名的美人，父母也接受過先進的教育，從小就開始到歐洲各國遊曆，作者的個人優越感在字裏行間也可以體現。讀的時候總想起《城南舊事》的種種，非常喜歡這類書，動蕩的時代大背景下的小人物的喜樂哀愁。
