当初在MIT开学前回到中国买了一手提箱大学教材，因为美国的精装课本砖头一样重，不方便带着到处走，而中国的课本放5，6本到书包里都不影响行动。中国的课本是高等教育出版社的第二版《力学》，MIT指定的是就是这本An introduction to mechanics，我的力学课是MIT提供的三种难...

話說是這本書讓我理解矢量、角動量，以及數學之用於物理的閤理性的、、、

我對比過這本書（MIT指定教材）與高等教育齣版社的第二版《力學》中國的課本內容比美國的深得多（我選的是MIT提供三種難度力學最難的那門），而且相當多額外的補充內容，例如有一節是討論雙擺的。MIT的課程是完全按照課本教的，沒有超齣課本的水平，最多就是復習課（通常講解作業和答疑）時教授偶然說一些比較深入的。

這本書是我見過的最好的普物力學教材，沒有之一。

這本書還是在2013年上大一時候的教材，現在竟也沒什麼印象，當時英語水平一般，通讀下來也有些費勁。另外北美係的基礎教材終究是太囉嗦瞭些。個人認為基礎（低年級本科生）教材可以寫得簡潔明快一些，由授課老師補充其他內容。專業性更強（高年級本科生或研究生的）教材應該寫得詳細一些，適閤自學。
