extremely passionate and comprehensive. I would recommend it to any readers who are interested in Sulla but don't share the taste of dull academic works. I'm quite moved by Keaveney's description of Sulla about how he maintained the lifelong friendship with the theatre gangs even when he was at the summit of power.
評分作者博論的改編，總體內容一般，有些觀點腦洞開的太大瞭，很難認同。另外作者對蘇拉是否剝奪瞭保民官提案權的問題的討論比較有新意，但對於蘇拉時期元老院的權利問題，作者的觀點還是太傳統瞭，個人感覺仍有商榷的必要。
