当年很多人就是读了这本书成了神棍的。不过实话实说，离开IR几年了，现在回想起来很多读过的论文或者学术专著都已经不记得了。唯独Waltz和老米的著作大概是一生都不会忘的。简单地来说，此书的作用就在于，老米教你怎么做人。是一部非常明快的伦理学的论著。对于他人的善意抱有过大的期待是愚蠢的，为了追求自己的利益而施展浑身解数是合理的。道德的相对主义虽然的确不中听，但是否认道德的相对性，把有利于自己的道德宣扬为共通的善，的确则是最大的伪善。国际政治学的确盛产神棍。但是也并非没有救济社会的功能，指出世界上存在力量的不平等，和冲突的现实性，承认道德的相对性和追求自我利益，并且合理化自身利益的道德合理性。也许个人觉得，在现实的条件下，是能够救得更多的人至少在主观上免于他人支配的。
