當年很多人就是讀瞭這本書成瞭神棍的。不過實話實說，離開IR幾年瞭，現在迴想起來很多讀過的論文或者學術專著都已經不記得瞭。唯獨Waltz和老米的著作大概是一生都不會忘的。簡單地來說，此書的作用就在於，老米教你怎麼做人。是一部非常明快的倫理學的論著。對於他人的善意抱有過大的期待是愚蠢的，為瞭追求自己的利益而施展渾身解數是閤理的。道德的相對主義雖然的確不中聽，但是否認道德的相對性，把有利於自己的道德宣揚為共通的善，的確則是最大的僞善。國際政治學的確盛産神棍。但是也並非沒有救濟社會的功能，指齣世界上存在力量的不平等，和衝突的現實性，承認道德的相對性和追求自我利益，並且閤理化自身利益的道德閤理性。也許個人覺得，在現實的條件下，是能夠救得更多的人至少在主觀上免於他人支配的。
