外國人寫的以清代西南邊陲為場景的推理，雖然主綫由耶穌會與多明我會的衝突推動，人物的身份使得情節很容易推測，但在邊域／官場氛圍的塑造上頗見工夫，並不齣戲。（kindle版中國亞馬遜竟然比美亞貴很多，太不閤理）以後應該會有中文版吧。

（代標）翻譯3星，語言沒有考慮曆史語境，語感也不太好，也不排除原文一些錶達確實是現代性的；故事4星，前期較平，往後漸入佳境，最後還跟《長安十二時辰》撞梗瞭。作者大概在努力營造中國的氛圍，但視角和口吻還是蠻西方的。

http://lockedroom.net/blog/?p=3178 主綫劇情平庸，但支綫數量龐大，尤其是結尾接二連三地引爆隱藏真相，十分過癮。人物眾多，紅鯡魚層齣不窮，指明真凶的唯一一條伏綫還用到冷知識。中間一起和主綫完全無關的狄仁傑密室非常齣彩。作者是中國通，行文好像在看英文版《功夫熊貓》。

很喜歡，可能是因為外國人用英文寫中國的事情增加瞭一種親切感。案件很有意思，推理也不錯。

Elsa Hart was born in Rome, Italy, but her earliest memories are of Moscow, where her family lived until 1991. Since then she has lived in the Czech Republic, the U.S.A., and China. She earned a B.A. from Swarthmore College and a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. She wrote Jade Dragon Mountain in Lijiang, the city formerly known as Dayan. It is her first novel.
