Ruth Jefferson is a labor and delivery nurse at a Connecticut hospital with more than twenty years’ experience. During her shift, Ruth begins a routine checkup on a newborn, only to be told a few minutes later that she’s been reassigned to another patient. The parents are white supremacists and don’t want Ruth, who is African American, to touch their child. The hospital complies with their request, but the next day, the baby goes into cardiac distress while Ruth is alone in the nursery. Does she obey orders or does she intervene?

评分在Audible上听完的第一本书，用一种比较巧妙的角度探讨了种族问题，不会太沉重但又引人思考。这本书比较长，录音版是16个多小时
评分Great, but sad.
评分多视角讲述方式没毛病 可是总是重复讲述而不推进情节就有点受不了了……最后的closing argument超级燃！
评分说实话一开始觉得最后Turk的转变很不切实际，但听了最后的作者的话才发现这一切是多么现实。
