Reuven Malter lives in Brooklyn, he’s in love, and he’s studying to be a rabbi. He also keeps challenging the strict interpretations of his teachers, and if he keeps it up, his dream of becoming a rabbi may die.

评分A sequel of the chosen. Now Danny and Reuven are adults and engage with the secular world. Both two remain faithful to their Jewish roots and tradition. The narratival flow is not quite engaging as the Chosen. So many details are spread out in prose. Sometimes the cause and effect of an event are explained prosaically. Overall it's worth reading.
