米爾頓·弗裏德曼（1912－2006），美國人，為哥倫比亞大學博士、芝加哥大學經濟學教授，曾當選為美國經濟學會會長，並且獲得1976年諾貝爾經濟學奬金。他被認為是西方最保守的經濟學者之一，曾任美國共和黨的人物尼剋鬆和戈德華的私人經濟顧問。弗裏德曼的主要著作有：《對幣數量論的研究 》、《消費函數理論》、《資本主義與自由》、《美國貨幣史，1867－1960年》等書以及許多篇文章。
