From Library Journal Recent years have brought continued attacks upon the capitalistic economic system. Particular criticism has been brought to bear regarding the inappropriateness of free enterprise in the evolving global economy. This book is one response to that critique. Basically, a group of international executives, under the umbrella title "The Global One Hundred," have compiled their views concerning the most effective pathway to world economic health. Not surprisingly, their prescription involves a heavy dosage of free market economics, including the elimination of free trade barriers, reduced corporate taxation, balanced government budgets, and uniform environmental protection laws. While the views presented here are doctrinaire, they nonetheless present a penetrating corporate perspective on many of the most pressing economic issues of our time. Recommended. Gene R.
