和晚期帝國有關的部分為commercial integration, future market and guilds formation, response to limited natural resource and tragedy of the commons. 最後兩章居然是抱著圍觀群眾吃瓜的心態看完的。。。

民國環境史史料不全，選地區做是蠻好的解決辦法。漁業也非傳統經濟史的重點對象，算是填補空白之作。梳理瞭很多方誌和史料，也是一個貢獻。
