畢飛宇,男,1964年生於江蘇興化,1987年畢業於揚州師範學院中文係,從教五年。著有中短篇小說近百篇。主要著作有小說集《慌亂的指頭》、《祖宗》等。現供職於《南京日報》。 近年來畢飛宇得奬眾多,其中有:首屆魯迅文學奬短篇小說奬(《哺乳期的女人》)。 馮牧文學奬(奬勵作傢)三屆小說月報奬(《哺乳期的女人》《青衣》《玉米》兩屆小說選刊奬(《青衣》《玉米》)首屆中國小說學會奬(奬勵作傢《青衣》《玉米》)。畢飛宇說:《玉米》是他的最愛,是他為年青一代人寫的,他希望他們喜歡。
In a small village in China, the Wang family has produced seven sisters in its quest to have a boy; three of the sisters emerge as the lead characters in this remarkable novel.
