讓·愛爾斯坦（Jean Bethke Elshtain，1941-2013），美國藝術與科學學院院士，著名的評論傢、政治哲學傢和公共知識分子，在宗教學、政治學、倫理學等領域均享有盛名。一生所獲榮譽無數，其中包括“古根海姆學者”，美國政治學會的“古德諾奬”。曾任芝加哥大學神學院社會與政治倫理學洛剋菲勒講席教授，同時也在芝加哥大學政治學係任教。著有 Women and War; Just War Theory; Democracy on Trial 等作品。《公共的男人，私人的女人》是她的代錶作。
