Gus, Scruffy, Clara and Friends is a collection of five fun stories about animal friends. Gus the goose and his friends, Gertrude, Gladys, Gwen, Gary, and Gordon are geese who live in a public park where children play. Scruffy the cat was born as an outdoors cat who found a home with people who love and take care of him. Clara the crabby cow is unhappy about her routine life of giving milk and eating grass until she finds a little girl who loves her. After their arrival and a round of 'hugs' and 'kisses' it isn't long before the grandchildren plead, "Grandma or Grandpa, tell us a story." Most grandparents resort to telling stories that the children have already heard many times before. Author Gidge Dreher has come up with a new twist - developing stories while traveling.
