所谓长难句、晦涩用词，基本是政客把玩、学术故弄玄虚、新闻写作油腔滑调、以及国内英文考试盲目响应的产物罢了。英文本身的冗赘与词汇的贫乏由此被进一步滥用。以前所学所教大半错了。此书提点写作要义是解毒良方，不仅仅适用于英文写作。
