4 前麵有點悶，不過後勁強大。東南亞角度看二戰和殖民有新鮮感，最後藏寶圖有點齣戲，但山中寺廟和幾段夢境都很有電影感，加上我大愛的師徒禁忌戀，很不錯的非一般反戰小說。

馬來亞緊急狀態是指1948年馬來亞共產黨展開武裝鬥爭之後，英殖民政府宣布全馬來亞進入緊急狀態，一直持續到1960年纔解除。這個小說的背景就是這段曆史，加上之前二戰日本侵略東南亞的曆史。Yun Ling對日本園林和這個園林師的愛我無法明白，但是這本書的語言非常優美婉約，對戰爭和人性的思考也非常不錯。
