各個變奏的分析雖然簡短，但是都很到位。開篇介紹瞭下巴赫在哥德堡變奏麯之前齣版的三本所謂“鍵盤樂練習麯集”（Klavieruberung），算是有用的背景知識。一定要堅持讀到最後幾頁，其中介紹瞭兩個流行的解釋哥德堡的理論，非常有趣，其中之一把九首卡農比作九大行星。LibGen上有下載。
