Initial thought is one of the reason for PWB recommended this to Jodie, must because of the psychopath character Cathy.. it is a good story of humanity and circle of life.. difficult to read through those long descriptive paragraphs, not sure it is best cho...

初中时看CIPHER(双星记)提到一部根据这个小说改的电影很好奇在大学图书馆看到,就借来看本书还算可以,但是对双胞胎母亲,个人不是很喜欢有印象的描写还是CIPHER提到的经典台词"让你的孩子活下去"

假期里和lg一起读完了这本厚厚的半自传。故事讲述了salinas valley几代人的生活，没有太多高潮或悬疑，只是人物本身的性格，转变和交汇很吸引人。也算是本加州拓荒史，当然少不了中国人的身影，华裔老仆Lee是我最喜欢的角色

看到最后一章差点泪目，很喜欢Steinbeck的叙事风格，让人完全身临其境，而且不管什么情节都叙述得很平淡反而会在结尾的时候让人感觉震撼。躺在床上把整本书的情节和每个角色都回味了一遍，很庆幸我时隔一年又把这本书捡起来读完了
