博爾赫斯說瞭我要說的某些話，就如他自己說的，讀者就是作者。每次我讀到一些似曾相識的句子，就證明在恢復自己的記憶瞭。人看不到他不理解的東西，閱讀一本書，就是在探索自己的理解範圍，好書一遍一遍的看，讀者就漸漸接近作者瞭。

擇取瞭博爾赫斯頗有威名的幾部短篇小說集的精品篇章，編排也是按時間順序排列。在浙江文藝的漢譯本《博爾赫斯全集》中，幾篇經典的，例如《小徑分叉的花園》、《環形廢墟》、《沙之書》等等，都可以找到相應的譯文。對比讀下來，英語和漢語各具長處吧。如果試圖把握小說中的邏輯思維，可以嘗試英文譯文；如果重在閱讀故事情節，漢語譯文就更閤適。印象中，英文譯本似乎並未添加腳注，如遇一些歐美文學常識的東西，可能需要自己查詢。漢語譯文則對書中可能給讀者造成睏擾的部分，均以腳注形式標記。
