Her third novel, Home, was published in 2008 and was nominated for both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award; it won the Orange Prize.

买了这本书N年后，最后终于在“每天坚持读两页”的计划下读完了它。她的语言看似简练但理解起来很费劲，再加上我在基督教角度和美国历史角度方面的障碍，阅读体验坎坷难捱。

评分刚好看到比目鱼老师摘录的哈金谈契科夫：「比如，契科夫后期的一些最辉煌的小说，根本没有故事，但也能让人读得津津有味，而且还感动得一塌糊涂。文学史上常把这种小说称为“一片生活”（a slice of life）。」觉得这话用来说Marilynne Robinson的书，也合适。虽然遗憾因不信教未能更深入地品味Gilead中一些讨论，但藉由老牧师的视角去看生活，也未尝不是作家为读者广布的福音。「Hope deferred maketh the heart sick.」「But hope deferred is still hope.」另，有没有人研究下Marilynne Robinson作品中「受洗」这个情节？在Lila和这本书中感觉都很关键……
