打动人的细节。一，寡言木讷的老猎人Anselmo不喜欢杀人，觉得不管是敌人还是队友，不管对方是不是法西斯，杀人就像把刀捅进自己兄弟的身体，然而战争中，不得不杀，不想杀与不得不杀之间的巨大矛盾让他时时思考，重复想着，希望能有什么能够弥补这一切。在最后战斗中他杀了一个法西斯，然后一边流泪一边继续杀人。二，Andres在送信的途中踩死一只鹌鹑，留下一窝蛋。他想着，真希望能系一根丝带回来的时候取回去孵出来，养大。三，Robert 最后受伤，毫无生存的可能，一人躺在树边，想着，这世界如此美好，值得为之战斗，我不想就死离去。想起他自杀的父亲，想着一种干脆利落的死法，但仍然心存希望，想着‘再等等吧再等等吧说不定有转机。四，约翰多恩的诗：每个人的死，都是“我”的削减，不要问丧钟为谁而鸣，它就是为你而鸣。
