莫欣•哈米德

A fate-of-half-life style love story in the form of self-help book, a new approach to a romantic novel. The writer adopts a different writing style that is both refreshing and touching. He writes like a gentle version of Junot Diaz.

很奇怪，作者的第二人称写作让我没啥代入感...可能是对getting filthy rich不感兴趣？还是对亚洲国家经济体制操作规则比较了解？另外，这是一本self-help的书，很奇怪，也没帮到我傻。听完就像听了一个巴基斯坦版本的”霍乱时期的爱情”。相比之下，作者的the reluctant fundamentalist 剧情更好

第一印象是对自助书的parody，用第二人称写的个人故事。但实质上主人公的故事有原型的特征，所以刻板印象和cliche的指控可能恰恰是内涵所在。当然刻板印象和对刻板印象有意识的挪用永远是值得辨析的话题，特别是当you代指的大多是西方读者的情况下，这本书的声明难免让人警觉。
