Berlin 1942
When Bruno returns home from school one day, he discovers that his belongings are being packed in crates. His father has received a promotion and the family must move from their home to a new house far far away, where there is no one to play with and nothing to do. A tall fence running alongside stretches as far as the eye can see and cuts him off from the strange people he can see in the distance.
But Bruno longs to be an explorer and decides that there must be more to this desolate new place than meets the eye. While exploring his new environment, he meets another boy whose life and circumstances are very different to his own, and their meeting results in a friendship that has devastating consequences.

虽然是刻意通过儿童角度来描写的，我还是不喜欢这么幼稚的笔法，简单易懂用来学英语倒是不错，小孩子应该会喜欢

评分2.5。略失望。进程很慢，到了一半左右才出现“the boy in the stripped pyjamas”。写法也比较低龄生硬，看到N次“嘴巴张成o型”的描写。男主太傻白甜，9岁的孩子应该知道点什么吧，又是在如此特定的历史背景下。最后两人手牵手被赶进毒气室是没想到，悲虐。这娃到死还是不明白这是为什么吧。
评分竟然没有记录这一本。大学时候读的，感觉是一部很好的向儿童介绍二战的文学作品。
