非常值得一讀，裏麵雖多瑣碎的細節，拖延瞭很久纔讀完，但論證還是十分清晰的，大概能猜齣Beard寫的部分。宗教與政治的交互，羅馬與外部的交互，所謂的羅馬官方宗教與magic之類的superstition，羅馬宗教體係的構建，羅馬的權威與控製… 早期的部分指齣羅馬曆史與羅馬宗教的曆史之間的斷裂性；共和國時期精英在宗教生活中的位置；界限與流動或許是理解這本書的一個方嚮

非常精彩，不愧是98年一齣版就引起轟動的著作，每一章在當時都能引嚮一個新的研究方嚮，即便是20後，很多觀點看起來也不過時，一直以為對宗教不感興趣，現在覺得可能隻是寫的不夠精彩而已，真正精彩的著作即便是再陌生的領域也是能讓人印象深刻的。除瞭第8章都仔細讀瞭，可以說的很多，但是最值得一說的就是，既不是Religion of Roman Republic，也不是Religion of Roman Empire，而是Religions of Rome, Rome的空間意義是絕對重要的，BNP選擇羅馬城作為寫作的核心，正是因為，所謂的Urbs Romana絕不等同於Orbis Romanus，同時從urbs嚮orbis的轉嚮，絕對是一個非常值得研究的問題，也是永遠不會失去活力的問題。
