Damn it's been around 20 years since the first edition came out...Even a Chinese like me found the mindsets of people at that time bizarre to some extent. What massive changes have taken place all over the nation... Yet some problems, or say the national ethos, remain unchanged, such as the pragmatism, the sole focus of life on earning money, etc.

比尋路中國更稚嫩，更文青氣，更draft，更率性，揉進瞭更大段的主觀感受。格式迥異的各章節，零落記錄在涪陵的街頭、鄉村、校園裏的見聞和經曆。以個體故事，見時代背景。這是27歲的Howei，在1997年的涪陵。涪陵1997和中國2020相比，太多事情有瞭變化（當然很多事情仍一成不變，甚至更糟瞭），以至於我而言，顯得有些遙遠。反倒是1997年的何偉，跨越23年，和此刻作為讀者的我年紀相仿，閱讀過程中，由此不斷産生親近感和代入感。讀的英文原版，比中文體驗要更好，畢竟在語言上，就天然地離Howei1997更近瞭。

看这本书的时候，我的感受有点奇怪，因为我感觉到自己的思路明显是和Peter站在一边的。简单的说，我在他的书看到了以前的自己，而现在的我一直用一种带有西方价值观的思维方式去审视过去的，包括以前的教育和在这个教育体制下产生的我。虽然我并不来自四川，但是书里面提到的...
