纔一百多頁的病毒星球在豆瓣閱讀上竟然賣到三十多塊，被逼著隻能看原版瞭；介紹瞭煙草花葉病毒、人鼻病毒HRV，流感病毒，人乳頭瘤病毒HPV，噬菌體，內源性逆轉錄病毒ERV，HIV，西尼羅河病毒，埃博拉病毒，SARS病毒，MERS病毒，天花病毒，巨型病毒（其中兩個名字讓人印象深刻: mamavirus和mimivirus）

之前買瞭中文版的，這次趁著疫情找到瞭英文版的迴頭再溫習。看完之後整個人平靜瞭很多，我們每個人都隻是這個時代洪流中的一個小分子，看瞭人類和病毒漫長的交戰曆史，人類大部分是輸瞭的，some perhaps pure luck，所以該怎麼過還是怎麼過吧，做好自己的部分就好瞭。 Don't panic, just grab your towel.

極其簡單的科普，涵蓋瞭病毒研究中的重要分支：測序考古，疫情控製，生化反應及免疫調控。還有些新近的病毒學研究進展，以及全書特彆注重病毒與人類和生物進化方麵的思考。總體上銜接高中和專業課一年級水平，實驗方法少，數據少，電鏡照倒不少。大方嚮上把握比較準確，雖然第二版也是2015寫的，但也涵蓋瞭非典，中東，埃博拉，牛瘟等等，也寫瞭些冠狀病毒族的預言
