斷斷續續看瞭好久，最後終於看到黑死病傳播和濛古帝國。突然不曉得應該有一種怎麼樣的情緒。其一，是正如作者說的：因為史料匱乏，它的病源至今依然沒有定論，其二，是因為在作者看來，黑死病的爆發恰恰標誌著一種中亞地區的統一“a single uniform disease structure” (406).
