前Pixar CFO 寫的書。內容包括與Steve Jobs 的閤作，公司上市的過程(如選投行，確定經營策略), 製定股權激勵，與Disney談判等等。文筆很好，製度背景的介紹居然還有點研究價值。但是Pixar 的CEO的自傳裏完全沒有提到這個人，所以這自傳的可信度不知道有多大。

雖然是business的書讀起來非常流暢甚至有點像小說。從最初的不賺錢的業務，到立足四大業務目標再到一步步上市、被迪士尼收購，作者從CFO的高度介紹分析Pixar非常獨特的商業成長曆史，提供瞭很多好萊塢與娛樂界的商業insight。此外還有作者與喬布斯的閤作與交情，玩具總動員的一步步誕生，IPO路上高盛和摩根為瞭規避風險做齣的決定，還有很多作者個人對這個産業與公司的熱愛與最後為瞭尋找人生目標的更多思考。作者從哈佛到律師到好萊塢商業上的成功再到最後的東方哲學與冥想的追求，真是非常之優秀的當代西方精英。

本書作者為前皮剋斯CFO, 從剛開始的皮剋斯窘迫度日，到締造齣一個動畫帝國，文筆流暢，精彩紛呈。皮剋斯的經曆為喬布斯以後開啓蘋果公司的娛樂産業（比如音樂）打下良好的基礎。作者和喬布斯是近鄰，朋友，經常相互走動，然而房子仍在，斯人已去。

LAWRENCE LEVY is a Silicon Valley lawyer and executive hired by Steve Jobs in 1994 as CFO and member of the Office of the President of Pixar Animation Studios. He was responsible for Pixar's business strategy and IPO and guided Pixar's transformation from a money-losing graphics company into a multibillion-dollar entertainment studio. He later joined Pixar's board of directors. He then left corporate life to study Eastern philosophy and meditation and their relevance to modern life. He now writes and teaches on this topic and cofounded Juniper Foundation to pursue this work. Originally from London, England, he earned degrees from Indiana University and Harvard Law School. He lives with his wife, Hillary, in Palo Alto, California.
