完全不解這部小說是憑藉什麼獲瞭普利策奬的。除瞭零星乍現的幾個高亮點，全書都很無聊，忍著讀完。陳述者一直在說男主人公很天真，雖然已五十歲，但沒有任何章節斷落是描述他如何天真的。最不能容忍的，就是靠一個陳述句刻畫人物，我要的是，描述。我要證據，我不要作者丟給我一個結論。男主人公，行將五十歲，一個沒什麼名氣的三流作傢，被相處瞭很多年的小男友拋棄，被人提到時的標簽永遠是某著名詩人曾經的戀人，在收到前男友的結婚請柬後，決定環遊世界。法國，德國，意大利，摩洛哥，印度，日本。在旅程中，沒什麼事情發生，他的旅程實在是太枯燥乏味瞭。少有關於他情緒的描寫，作者沒有提供給讀者可與之主人公發生情緒共鳴的通道。讀著關於他的故事，卻如同一個旁觀者，看著與自己擦肩而過的路人，你對他一無所知。作者的講述，太糟糕瞭。

A gay Odyssey. An attribute to Proust. A love story crafted with polyphony narrative. Beautiful language and lovely to read but is it too readable to be a prize winner?

這麼看的話，Less這一生的故事真的不壞。要形容他，也無非是一顆永遠長不大的心，沒有盔甲，沒有防備，即使到瞭五十歲，仍然與這世界赤裸相對。這筆觸的幽默和溫柔，也在最後揭開答案。所以愛的本質是什麼。如果你花瞭幾個月穿越半個地球，並沒能走齣去，反而明白過來，誰能說你不愛他呢。

後麵四分之一有點無聊，尤其是印度部分

作者的文筆真的是我讀過的有限的英語文學裏最能引起共鳴之一瞭 故事情節相對輕鬆簡單 整個閱讀體驗還是很愉悅的

赶在六一读完了Less。最后莱斯去的城市是京都，体验了日本的怀石料理，中途得知了旧爱Robert中风住院。Robert算是见证Less从青年到中年的全过程。在他眼中，莱斯还是当年海滩上见过的二十一岁少年，那个错将多伦多当做加拿大首都的少年。人人都说年轻时遇到的爱恋最让人难忘，...
