迴不去的過去 “Much of life is timing and circumstance,I see that now.”

Interesting premise that takes us thru black america (class diff&mobility, incarceration, marriage, food), steeped in the pride&particularities of black culture. 5 yrs fly by in haunting epistolary section. Told thru 3 voices. Prose borders on sentimental. Middle w/ flashback drags, simple plot carrying endless inner monologue, ends fast&neat.

Roy是個情緒化的男人，他有什麼說什麼，把自己的脆弱完全展現。Celestial是個婊，懦弱，明明自己變瞭心，連承認都勇氣都沒有，在和Roy獄中信重，還給齣分手的什麼冠冕堂皇的理由。倆人都不咋滴，我看不上。但我很喜歡作者的語言風格，結局也不錯，各走各的路。

塔亞莉·瓊斯（Tayari Jones）

1970年齣生於亞特蘭大，美國當代黑人作傢。已獲眾多文學奬項，同時也是羅格斯大學紐瓦剋學院副教授，內華達大學黑山學院訪問學者。著有四部小說，其中《銀雀》（Silver Sparrow）曾入選美國教育協會精選圖書庫。

2018年齣版的《美國式婚姻》在美國已印刷超過500， 000冊，被奧巴馬列入夏季書單，同時入選奧普拉圖書俱樂部，提名美國國傢圖書奬，Goodreads讀者年度選擇奬，被評為2018年Apple Books年度最佳書籍。2019年本書獲得美國阿斯彭語言文學奬，美國黑人圖書館協會小說文學奬，並入圍奧威爾文學奬長名單。
