VSI里面中等偏下的一本。无论是formation还是静态的description都是在讨论nation，而对nationalism的刻画显得有些粗糙……概念梳理还算可以，史学考察却欠精细，看短评说作者是研究宗教的，不过没怎么看出来【大概我对近代宗教研究不熟吧】。中译没怎么看。

评分萌新看了觉得跑题了 但是收获还是很多
评分作者是原生论倾向的
评分極清楚的問題意識。不過作者研究宗教出身，側重宗教跟國族的關係，強調nation是傳統連結多於是現代的新現象，故此也沒太多說大眾媒體的影響。
