读了一半吧，很十九世纪末写作风格，很有说服力，我比较相信，不过不明白和西部世界有什么关系，没看到意识的出现是个小遗憾，但真没时间看那么长了

近年来看过最击节赞叹的才华横溢之作，一百分。

“神明从未离去，只是变成主观意识”的理论很有意思，但explanatory gap太大了。行为主义心理研究都被吐槽，更何况从考古资料推测古人的心智结构？个人感觉作者太倾心于精神分裂的幻觉症状，忽略了精神异常状态时可能出现的其他症状，进化角度上来讲，这种状态真的利于个体生存？其他学者对该理论的批判一起读才算带劲儿。不过，这本书让我真正明白人类学如何被归为认知科学分支。十分赞赏这种从生理构造和社会背景角度结合起来理解宗教起源，而不是用“古人都很迷信很蠢”来回避宗教话题。
